L’attività della Fondazione Museo del Tesoro del Duomo e Archivio Capitolare di Vercelli, durante l’emergenza sanitaria Covid-19, non si è interrotta ma si è focalizzata sulla ricerca scientifica, promuovendo uno sviluppo delle attività in modalità smart working. Per i vercellesi il primo di agosto ricorre la memoria del protovescovo Eusebio (+ 371), patrono della Città e del Piemonte intero. L’Evangeliario a lui legato, datato alla metà del IV secolo, è alla base del primo nucleo dello scriptorium della Biblioteca Capitolare di Vercelli. Il manoscritto, insieme ad alcuni oggetti permanentemente conservati nel Museo, saranno il fulcro delle iniziative che la Fondazione ha iniziato a proporre per celebrare i 1650 anni dalla morte di Sant’Eusebio, in linea con il prossimo anno pastorale dell’Arcidiocesi.
The activities of the Museo del Tesoro del Duomo and the Capitolare Archive of Vercelli Foundation did not stop during the Covid-19 health emergency; instead, they focused on scientific research, promoting the development of activities through smart working. For the people of Vercelli, August 1 marks the commemoration of Saint Eusebius, the first bishop (+371) and patron of the City and the entire region of Piedmont. The Gospel Book linked to him, dated to the mid-4th century, is the foundation of the first nucleus of the scriptorium of the Capitolare Library of Vercelli. The manuscript, along with several objects permanently housed in the Museum, will be the focus of the initiatives that the Foundation has begun proposing to celebrate the 1,650th anniversary of the death of Saint Eusebius, in line with the upcoming pastoral year of the Archdiocese.
