Nel corso del XIX secolo Milano visse una profonda trasformazione. La città si espanse grazie all’industria, la composizione sociale dei cittadini
cambiò e sorsero i primi quartieri di operai. Anche la formazione tecnica dei lavoratori doveva essere affrontata in modo diverso. I ritardi dell’iniziativa pubblica in questo campo sono stati compensati dal dinamismo della società con iniziative pionieristiche nel settore. È in questo contesto che nel 1921 nasce l’iniziativa di don Polvara, la Scuola Beato Angelico.
During the nineteenth century, Milan experienced a profound transformation. The city expanded thanks to industry, the social composition of the inhabitants changed, and the first working-class neighborhoods emerged. The technical training of workers also needed to be addressed differently. The delays of public initiative in this area were made up for by the dynamism of society with pioneering initiatives in the field of vocational training. It is in this context that in 1921 Don Polvara’s initiative to start the Beato Angelico School began.
